My hobbies

My favourite hobby is playing the badminton because it awakens my competitive spirit. There are many reasons lead to me crazing about this sport. One of the primary reason is that could improve my health. It is helpful to drop the basal heart rate by a few beats per minute and playing badminton could reduce the blood pressure significantly. As a consequence, it will help reducing the dosage of medications needed. Another reasons of I like playing badminton is that a game for age. I winter, many family always play badminton together. Even though we play it in our home garden without any excellent facilities, all of us enjoy that time. I have been UK for two years. There is less time to stay at home. I miss the time when I was playing the badminton with my parents and brother. Badminton is the quite easy sport. It is not only helping our health, but also brings us many happy times. I am also interest at reading. Reading could improve my quality of focus and concentration. Sometimes reading can help me to drift off to sleep more easily when I experienced a terrible day. Bool can relax me and let me forget the umbrage. More book you read , you will be more cultured.

My name is ZHANG YANNI. I am an international student which means I come from China and I study at Bellerbys College. I am currently on the Business Foundation programme at Bellerbys College. I was an A level student last year but felt that the focus of A level is academic only, and I had done similar examinations before coming to the UK already. My hometown is located in South-east China where is surrounded by mountains and seas. It is a good place for travelling. There are four people in my family. My father has been operating an international aquatic product business for over 10 years. He is quite busy. My mother is a housewife. Many years ago she was an excellent clothing designer. I was often wearing some special clothes which were made by my mother. I also have an old brother. He is studying in top five university of China now. He is my idol because he was always getting full mark in many subjects which are my weakness. In pre-school, I have made some outstanding academic achievements. I have excelled in mathematics and took part in Olympic maths competition and scored the top marks. I was the president of the Literary Association of my secondary school and published school magazine for fellow students. These experiences enabled me to learn how to be a responsible leader and I have become a more sensible and thoughtful person. Outside school, l like playing badminton as it awakens my competitive spirit. Hiking is also an activity that l enjoy. Through hiking I have learnt the importance of perseverance. After learning business, I want to be an excellent finance expert in thefuture.

My felling of three terms

I will graduate next month, during learning one year Business Foundation, I have learned many useful knowledge. I was taking Business Studies 1, Economic 1 and 2, Accounting, Business Math and FES 1 and 2 at first two terms. This term l am learning Business Studies 2, CIT and FES 3.
I personal believe that the Business Math is the easiest subject than others because l had learned all of them in my country. Even though l learned it before, I was still put concentration in the class. As a consequence, I got a really good result. By compared with accounting, it was my first time to do that and our teacher is quite solemn. I was very afraid of her. I put focus on her class and did all homework. But I learn many new knowledge what I never know before. The final exam was quite difficult, but the result is ok.
However, Business studies and Economic is quite for me. I was A-Level student, but I failed in the exam and made decision to the Foundation Program. This makes me very nervous about these. I always ask myself can l do it better. Then, in order to go to university I study very hard. There are many knowledge should remember. Before going to sleep, I did revision about what l learned in today. Writing business and economic essay is the most difficult part for me. At the beginning, I did not know how to analysis and evaluation the question. My business and economic teacher are very nice, they give us some example and ask us try to write by ourselves, then they will check it and give us some useful advises. After doing many practises, l have already known how to write one excellent essay. I improve my writing skills as well as. In the first term, the results of business and economic is quite good. I cannot express to my teachers how grateful I am.
English is the subject what I most worried about. Many students tell me that English is difficult to get high mark. Before changing to the Foundation program, I thought it may be quite easiness to learn it. Actually I am wrong. I did many homework every day and should do many English course work. Even though I felt tired, my life is very fulfilling. I have improved my English in this year.
I am not very interest in computer, but I must learn it. I never do something about Excel before. After learning the CIT, I found computer is very convenient for our life. With the developing the technology, we could not live without the computer.
There are fourteen people in my class. We are study together nearly nine months. Each people has their personality. I am very happy to study with them. There are many happiness time in our life. All of them are very nice. When I have question, they are all willing to teach me. My teachers are all good at teaching, many of us get very good result. I think I will not forget the time which l study at Bellerbys. It is a treasure time in my life.

My dream

The global financial crisis occurred in 2008 and I can still remember those moments when my father had to face and struggle with all the difficult financial problems so as to overcome them. This was the catalyst that helped me to decide to pursue a career in international finance. My father has been operating an international aquatic product business for over 10 years and from his experience, I recognised the power of finance in a business. I find international finance exceptionally intriguing because of the way it incorporates financial relationships between countries to maximise profit from the foreign exchange. In the context of economic globalization, economic exchanges among nations will only become more frequent and the demand for a financial expert helping businesses to solve issues regarding liquidity and reserve will only rise. Studying international finance will give me a profound understanding of the financial markets, enabling me to become an international finance authority in the future.

English classes are included as well. As an international student, it is a more suitable course and will help me to adapt to University life in England more smoothly. This is exactly why I chose to change my course.
In school, I have made some outstanding academic achievements. I have excelled in mathematics and took part in Olympic maths competition and scored the top marks. Two years ago, I started my first business, in which I sold firecrackers on the street, with my older brother. During the process, l realized that if a business does not have good finance allocation, it will eventually face serious financial problems such as the issue of cash-flow.
Outside school, l like playing badminton as it awakens my competitive spirit. Hiking is also an activity that l enjoy. Through hiking I have learnt the importance of perseverance. To be an excellent financier, I should be motivated, ambitious and take responsibility for the risks. Sport is a good method to develop my spirit and encourage myself to be braver and to face the difficulties in my life. Besides that, I enjoy reading magazines and newspapers, which helps me to gain new knowledge about the economic environment.
By adopting the experience of receiving higher education in university in the United Kingdom, I will be able to achieve my ultimate goal, which is to be a successful international finance expert

CIT Course

With the development of technology, the capacity of IT contributes to the growth of one business. AS an international student, I should learn how computer system is useful for my life. For example, when I want to use the PowerPoint to show some work ideas or process to other people and i must know how to use it. In the CIT class, the teacher teaches us this skill which is quite useful in my future life. As well as the Excel is quite convenience to organized and calculate some complete figures. By using the Excel, we could reducing the time and improve the work efficient. This will quite useful for business to account their finance. At the beginning, I though Excel is very difficult to learn, but when l did more practices, I found it quite easy and useful. Communicating is very important in our daily life. When we learn how to make blog, it gives us another method to make more friends. Our teacher try to teach us how create the blog and how to use it by steps. We feel very easy to do it.  We only have one term to learn IT, there are still some useful computer skills we do not know. I hope school can give us more time to learn it.

The Foundation English classes

The Foundation English classes in here at Bellerbys do not only teach us knowledge, but help us how to complete coursework and presentations. As an international student, it is a more suitable course and will help me to adapt to university life in England more smoothly. That’s why l chose this subject. Compared with the academic English study, the Foundation English classes put forward on how to use the English in daily life and give students more opportunity to practise the English by different ways, such as presentations and debates. These are quite useful in our future university life. The academic English just teach us how to write, how to listening, how to read and how to speak. These just improve our ability about English skills. In generally, both two kinds of method are basically improving our English.

The Foundation English Class is enjoyed by many students. I think the main reason is that it provides different coursework for student which could let them fell the class is not very monotonous. However, l am not interest in the presentation because I could not speak fluency in front of audiences. I know there are many presentations should be done in the university, so l should practise more. I think the Foundation English classes could add more coursework to instead of the final exam. During the studying at Bellerbys, l improve my English by learning each coursework. I will practise more presentations to be more confidence in front of audiences.

Foundation Course

The Foundation programme offered by the college is more comprehensive, as we do not only gain knowledge, but learn how to complete coursework and presentations. As an international student, it is a more suitable course and will help us to adapt to University life in England more smoothly. There are many differences between course works and examinations.

To begin with English, the course works include presentations, debates, writing about cause and effect, listing and taking notes. Doing English course works are quite specific to improve our English skills from different aspects, but in the exam we only do the IELTS listening and writing, there is a limitation which is not let us to learn other English skills. The subject of business and economic also provides course works. We need search some knowledge by ourselves to complete the question, however, we only used the knowledge from class to answer questions in the examinations. For the Business Math and Accounting, the course works provide us good chance to practise the questions which are very similar with exam. In generally, both course work and examinations’ result of each subject are accounted and have significant influence on our final result, even though course works occupy smaller proportion than examinations.

How i changed my i idea of what i wish to study in the Universty

The UK has an excellent education system that why I choose come to here. At the beginning, I decided to learn business management in the university. However, I heard some argument about this course. Some students said it is hard to find a job in China if you learn business. Then, I tried to consult some people who have already graduated. They told me it is not good choice to learn business management in university if my parent does not have their own company. Actually I do not very interesting of my father’s business.

One day, I took train to London with my friends. I found London belongs to a financial and commercial city, there must be many opportunity to find job of finance. I thought China is developing qucikly.It must need some finace experts to improve the economic groth.Then I decided to learn an international finance.
